Scarborough Athletic gets a new face.

On loan until the end of the season, Iron attacker Cameron Wilson has joined Scarborough Athletic, a team in the National League North.

The 21-year-old joined the team at the Under-11 level in 2013 from Goole Town Tigers, a local team in his hometown, and in May 2021 he signed his first professional contract with the organisation.

On the first day of the 2021–22 season, he made his professional debut for the team as a 77th-minute substitute. Before spending some time on loan at the Seadogs, who were in the Northern Premier League, he made five appearances for the team that month. During that time, he made 17 appearances overall.

Wilson, who was brought back in April 2022, participated in five games for Scunthorpe in the latter part of the season, where he netted his first goal as a professional in a 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United.

He appeared in 33 National League games for United last season, tallying five goals in that time. Among the goals were a brace in a 4-1 victory over Wealdstone at home and the winning goal away at Halifax live on BT Sport.

He has made 24 appearances so far this season, 12 of which have been starts in the league; his lone goal came in the 4-1 victory against Scarborough at the beginning of the game.

Due to the loan’s nature, there is a recall option after the first 28 days. We send our best wishes to Cam for his time spent away from the Attis Arena.
