Leeds United target closes in on Sheffield United switch’

All of the latest Leeds United transfer rumours wrapped up

On Wednesday, January 3, 2023, here are the most recent Leeds United transfer rumours.

Sheffield United are on the verge of signing a long-term aim for the Whites.

Ben Brereton Diaz, a long-term target for Leeds United, is poised to join Sheffield United on loan after being released by Villarreal. According to The Star, the Premier League strugglers are eyeing a Chile international striker as their first January signing.

Since joining Villarreal from Blackburn Rovers last summer, the 24-year-old has failed to make an impression. Diaz, who was born in Stoke-on-Trent, has not scored in 24 appearances.

Diaz, who is eligible to represent Chile at the international level because of his mother, can play in a wide or centre role. It is well established that the Whites attempted to sign Diaz several times while he was on Rovers’ books.

Diaz is reported to have admirers in the Premier League, notably Crystal Palace and Burnley. Leicester City, Southampton, and West Bromwich Albion have all been linked with him in the past.

According to reports, Villarreal are willing to loan Diaz out, and United were rumoured to be interested in him again last month. However, the Blades appear to be on track to sign Diaz as they attempt to improve their Premier League survival chances.

Ryan Kent, a winger, could be on the move this month. The former Rangers man, who has been extensively linked with a move to Elland Road, is said to have requested a transfer just six months after joining Fenerbache.

Since going to Turkey, Kent has only started one domestic game. The Yellow Canaries have largely utilised him in the Europa League Conference.

However, according to a Sabah source cited by Yenicag, authorization has been obtained for Kent to leave during the January transfer window. Kent is thought to be on the radar of Hull City, Burnley, and the Whites.
