Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Blades youngster in the summer’

Anfield Watch has learned that the 19-year-old midfield prospect, who was on loan at League One team Port Vale for the first part of 2023–2024, has been observed by the Reds.

Arblaster played in four Championship games for Sheffield United last season, making his debut in the main team. The teenager hasn’t yet appeared in the top level, though.

Last summer, he was able to sign a season-long contract with Port Vale. He played regularly for the Valiants until the end of December, appearing in 26 games across all competitions and scoring twice.

Arblaster, a lifelong supporter of Sheffield United, was later called up by the team for the second half of the 2023–2024 season and is expected to make his Premier League debut soon.

He has represented England at the Under-18 and Under-20 levels and is regarded as a technically gifted midfield player.

Liverpool’s current approach has included cultivating local talent as well as recruiting young players from throughout the United Kingdom. Several young players who have graduated from the academy have made their first-team debuts this season.

Conor Bradley, a Northern Ireland native who transferred to the Reds’ academy in 2019, won the January Player of the Month award from Liverpool following impressive performances against teams like Chelsea and Norwich.

Ben Doak, Bobby Clark, and James McConnell are a few of the other up-and-coming players from the UK who have been brought in to play first-team minutes this season.
This season, Jurgen Klopp has praised Liverpool’s abundance of young talent several times. Most recently, following the team’s 4-1 victory against Chelsea last month, he praised the academy.

“We had seven games in January, with eleven days off in between,” he stated. Without the youth, Conor, Quansah, and Jarell, we would not have been able to thread together such a successful run of results. We also had midfielders out, so James McConnell played at number six.

These youngsters made use of the circumstance. I’m glad they could all perform as well as they did. The academy is performing admirably.
