Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign right-back Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United, with a medical taking place this morning.
Leeds’ first pre-season clash in front of fans was an encouraging one as they ran out 3-0 winners against League Two Harrogate Town, getting minutes in the tank as Farke experimented with his squad.
Full-back looked a glaring issue in terms of cover as Dan James held down a wing-back role, but the club are close to securing an arrival on that front.
Leeds agree Jayden Bogle deal for £5m
Leeds has made headway in their pursuit of Sheffield United right-back Jayden Bogle, who has been one of their main targets this week.
The Telegraph’s John Percy has revealed that the Whites have reached an agreement with the Blades over signing the 23-year-old:
Leeds will pay a cost of £5 million for the agreement, and this morning Bogle will go to West Yorkshire for a medical before concluding his transfer from Chris Wilder’s team.
Signing Bogle from a promotion rival is a major statement of intent for this season and a massive improvement for our back line.
The right side of our defence has really struggled to find balance under Farke, but having someone to match Junior Firpo is huge.
At £5million too, Leeds are getting one of the best full-backs in the league for a reasonable price too. Great deal.
