After it became known that one of their former players had decided to terminate his career at the age of 27, Sheffield United paid homage to him.
Despite not being a big success at the Blades, Kean Bryan did manage to score a historic goal as United defeated their rivals from Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford—unfortunately, in front of empty seats because of the epidemic.
Bryan joined on a free transfer from Manchester City and went on to play in 19 matches across all competitions, including many in the premier league, before failing to get a new contract and ultimately moving on to West Brom from United. Just two days shy of two years ago, Bryan sustained a knee injury there and hasn’t appeared in a game since. He was substituted off against Hull City in the first half.

In a long Instagram statement, Bryan personally revealed his medical advice-driven retreat and thanked his friends, family, and the clubs he performed with during his career.
“It’s a year of fresh starts for me. I’d want to officially declare that I’m retiring from the NFL. Sadly, on medical advice, it’s time to bid football a fond farewell after two arduous years of fighting with my knee ailment,” he said.
“Just a young man who dreamed of becoming a professional football player and fulfilled that ambition while growing up in a council estate in Gorton. I will always value and be proud of my ability to play in the Premier League and represent some of the top clubs in England.
Blades striker Oli MvBurnie responded to one of his former United teammates, saying, “What a guy mate, pleasure to have played with you, good luck with whatever is next for you mate.” “Wish you all the best with whatever comes next, mate,” remarked George Bladock, and “All the best in the next chapter, mate,” commented Chris Basham.
