After Las Palmas striker Oli McBurnie departed Sheffield United for La Liga in the summer, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers will play each other in January in an effort to get him back to England.
According to a report by journalist Alan Nixon, the East Lancashire team is looking for a new striker in January. Burnley is interested in a loan agreement, although Rovers are also considering that option.
Under Scott Parker’s guidance, Burnley is aiming for automatic promotion this season and is currently dominating in their pursuit of a top-two finish; nonetheless, goals continue to be a little worry for the Clarets.
Similar circumstances apply to Blackburn as well; their propensity to win games by a single goal backfired on them on Saturday when they lost to Millwall 1-0, a result that made it clear they needed more firepower.
