Sheffield United defeated Luton Town 3-1 at Kenilworth Road to finally secure that elusive first away victory of the season.
Chris Wilder and his team exacted sweet revenge as they triumphed handily in the end and put the 3-2 home loss from 2023 behind them for good.
James McAtee, Vinicius Souza, and Cam Archer all scored goals to give United a significant victory and confidence boost ahead of the remaining 14 games.
Naturally, it was Souza’s first goal for the team and the first goal scored by a Brazilian in the Premier League for United.
Additionally, Chris Wilder called Souza “outstanding” in the middle of the park in an interview with the BBC following the game.
“We don’t really have it; there are players there who have never played in the Premier League. They are being taught in the world’s most difficult division, where failure to perform is penalized. However, on the days that you do succeed, it’s like this one. Vini did a fantastic job; now, let’s keep it up and interact with our fans, Wilder stated.
But that writer is also willing to take a shot, and today Vini Souza gave us the performance we have been waiting for a long time.
On a crucial day for the Blades, he was outstanding in the midfield and possibly United’s finest player even in the absence of the goal.
Hopefully, Souza can now use this as a springboard to truly establish and take off. He embodied everything at one point during injury time as he strode out with the ball, still brimming with energy and forward motion.
We need that from Souza, and if we’re lucky, today will be a great opportunity for him to really step it up and take center stage for United.
