American COH Sports’ £100 million acquisition of Sheffield United has been approved by the EFL, and they now want Prince Abdullah to complete the transaction.
Following the EFL’s approval of the deal, American COH Sports has urged Prince Abdullah, the owner of Sheffield United, to complete their £100 million buyout.
Last month, Prince Abdullah consented to sell United, and COH Sports is becoming irate that the Saudi multimillionaire won’t approve their deal. In the January transfer window, COH Sports, led by health entrepreneur Helmy Eltoukhy and investor Steven Rosen, is eager to provide money to manager Chris Wilder.
They wish to continue the excellent work that Wilder has done in bringing the team back to the Championship peak after they were demoted from the Premier League in May. They are eager to get started in what will be a crucial market for the Blades, knowing that the clock is ticking down to the transfer window opening on January 1.
According to Rosen and Eltoukhy, the EFL clearance was the last obstacle they needed to overcome. They want Prince Abdullah to finalise the agreement so they can move on with their plans to return the Blades to the top division.
In a joint statement, Rosen and Eltoukhy said: “We appreciate the EFL’s careful consideration of the procedure and are happy to have received their approval. This was the final issue that needed to be resolved, and we want to do it as soon as feasible.
Like every Sheffield United fan, we hope the team builds on its impressive start to the season, and we think that only a speedy conclusion will enable us to back Chris and the team in obtaining the greatest outcome during the January window.
The Blades are the ideal fit for COH Sports, a collection of prosperous businesspeople, visionaries, business associates, and friends who have been searching for the ideal opportunity to invest in English football.
Resilience Capital was founded and is chaired by Rosen, an Ohio native. In addition, he manages Azurite Management LLC and is a co-founder of Gammite Ventures and Zanite Corporation.
Eltoukhy, a PhD-holding scientist, investor, and entrepreneur from California, is most recognised for his work on cutting-edge cancer testing technology and next-generation DNA sequencing. Guardant Health, which he co-founded, chairs, and co-CEOs, is in charge of developing innovative blood tests for cancer patients and cancer survivors.
