Sheffield United reach agreement over janury transfer

Tottenham Hotspur will be watching on with interest as Premier League rivals Burnley and Sheffield United consider a move for one of the Championship’s most in-form wingers.

HITC have recently claimed the Blades are ready to follow up their successful pursuit of Villarreal striker Ben Brereton-Diaz by making a move for Sunderland star Jack Clarke, who is said to be rated at around £20m by the Black Cats.

According to the report, when the winger signed a permanent contract with Spurs in the summer of 2022 after having a successful loan spell in the North East the previous season, Sunderland and Spurs agreed on a 30 percent sell-on clause.

The 23-year-old, who has made 28 appearances across all competitions and scored 12 goals and provided two assists, has been among the second-tier’s most reliable widemen this season. His play has drawn interest from other parties, but it has also been a major factor in the Black Cats’ pursuit of a play-off spot.

Blades target championship interest

Alan Nixon of The Sun claims that Sheffield United is the front-runner to sign Walesian custodian Danny Ward from Leicester City.

The former 30-year-old custodian has not played for Enzo Maresca’s team in any competition this season and is nearing the end of his current contract at King Power Stadium. The Blades are rumoured to have approached Leicester about a potential loan agreement, with the latter entailing a commitment to make the move permanent at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Cardiff is reportedly eyeing a move for the former Liverpool keeper, though, as Runar Alex Runarsson, an Arsenal stopper on loan, is rumoured to be considering returning to the Gunners if a suitable replacement cannot be found.
