Danny Rohl must axe 4/10 Sheffield Wednesday star*

This weekend, Sheffield Wednesday takes on QPR in what seems to be their biggest match of the year.
On Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday travels to West London to take on a fierce QPR team.
QPR and Sheffield Wednesday have been in 22nd and 23rd place in the Championship standings, respectively, for a large portion of the current season.

Both have also made significant progress in recent months, with QPR emerging victorious from the bottom three.

Following back-to-back victories over the Easter break, Wednesday is still in 23rd place, two points behind the drop zone, while the R’s are currently six points above it in 16th place.

After losing 2-0 away to Middlesbrough on Easter Monday, Sheffield Wednesday has now dropped their last four games.

After Sheffield Wednesday’s loss, Boro’s goals either side of halftime had Danny Rohl looking more incensed than ever.
The unsatisfactory performance versus Middlesbrough was criticised by Rohl.

A number of players, including Barry Bannan, were particularly conspicuous by their lacklustre performance in the Riverside match.

However, for much too long now, one player seemed to have been in extremely mediocre condition.

This season, Anthony Musaba has more goal contortions for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship than any other player with eight.

The Owls would already be out of the picture without his goals.
However, the Dutchman has been a mediocre attacker for far too long; Wednesday has lost all four of the games in which he has started.

That might just be coincidence, but Musaba’s 4/10 showing against Middlesbrough last week summed up his lack of production.

In addition, Musaba gives up possession far too frequently when he tries to advance with the ball and ends up getting caught in traffic.

According to Sofascore, Musaba gave up possession to Middlesbrough seven times.

Depending on the shape Rohl chooses, fellow summer acquisition Djeidi Gassama might be a better fit for QPR.

Throughout the middle of the season, Gassama took Musaba’s place in the starting lineup and frequently filled a variety of roles.

While Musaba looks more at ease in that wide offensive role, Rohl has also used Gassama in a centre position and on the flanks. However, at this point, Musaba is simply not producing enough.

However, Gassama is a player who can always put in the work and ignite things; in 2024, he has scored three goals to Musaba’s one.

Because they both seem to want to achieve the same thing when they play simultaneously, it might be best to keep one on the bench as an impact player.

And this season, Musaba has demonstrated his ability to fill that position admirably by making a significant impact off the bench in matches against Stoke.

For the Owls, who still have a strong chance of winning, QPR is a crucial game, albeit it’s becoming less and less likely given their recent play.
