Reece James says there is a firm belief in the squad that positive results will come given the upturn in performance levels under manager Danny Röhl.
Wednesday lost by a slim margin at Ashton Gate on Saturday and had to play for more than an hour with just ten men after skipper Barry Bannan was sent off in the first half.
Just after the hour, Bristol City took the lead, and despite a valiant effort by Röhl’s team, an equalizer remained elusive.
“We were let down, as we had a strong start and opportunities to score early on,” James remarked.
“Even though we were reduced to ten men, I thought we displayed a great deal of character, spirit, and unity.”
Even during that time, we made opportunities. Sadly, we lost, but the guys persevered, and we played till the ninetieth minute.
“I was able to witness our final opportunity; the keeper made an incredible save.”
This type of event can occasionally occur when you are seated at the same table as us; luck isn’t always on your side.
“We must remain united, as we are witnessing weekly progress. We must persist in our efforts to achieve outcomes, which we are hopeful will materialize.”
“You can see the level of energy with which we are playing; the manager has instilled belief, so we need to keep pushing and acting morally.
“Putting a run of results together and focusing on ourselves is the most important thing we can do. We are playing well, and some of the scorelines don’t quite match up with our efforts.
