Mark Robins wants owls star investigated by FA after ‘naughty’ incident*

Following the FA Cup match at the CBS Arena last night, Coventry City manager Mark Robins is enraged with one Sheffield Wednesday player in particular.

Last night, Sheffield Wednesday travelled to Coventry to take on the Sky Blues in their third encounter in the previous five meetings.

And Coventry City emerged victorious once more.

In Sheffield Wednesday’s FA Cup fourth round replay, which the Owls lost 4-1 last night, Bailey Cadamarteri was the team’s top scorer.

Sheffield Wednesday can now concentrate on their incredible comeback in the Championship, while the Sky Blues secured a fifth round matchup with Maidstone United at the end of the month with three goals in a dominant second half.

Following the game, Coventry manager Robins vented his resentment at Sheffield Wednesday defender Di’Shon Bernard.

Jamie Allen was dragged off by Bernard, who looked to leave him with a shoulder in his face. Coventry later confirmed that Allen needed to be brought to the hospital, where he was found to have fractured his cheekbone.

Robins stated, as reported by The Star:

It was a pretty delicious opportunity to advance in this tie against these. Di’Shon Bernard breaking Jamie Allen’s cheekbone by thrusting his shoulder in his face was the sole unpleasant aspect of the performance. it’s not ideal, and because it was, to put it mildly, sour, I would really like them (the FA) to look into it. A depressed fracture, that is. Though I’m hopeful he won’t require surgery

“They need to have a look. I went in to see the referee. The referee didn’t see it, but it was bad; they were leaving stuff on us a little too much. He claimed that at the time, he thought it was harmless. But to put it mildly, it’s intentional and a little sour. It’s more important to consider his wellbeing than the time out. He appeared groggy, and it’s evident that the fracture has left a noticeable indentation in his cheek, so I’m hoping he’s okay. It’s not good.

given the incident last night, Bernard may have been fortunate to escape with merely a warning, but it wouldn’t be shocking if the FA looked into it given Bernard displayed a small amount of rage on the night.

And Danny Rohl, who already has a mountain to climb in this second half of the season, would suffer a severe hit if Bernard were to receive a ban.

His team is now in 23rd position in the Championship table, eight points behind Huddersfield Town in 21st place, and has lost six games in a row across all competitions.

However, given that QPR strengthened nicely last month and Town is expected to appoint a new manager, it appears
