Chris Powell is already a huge fan of this Sheffield Wednesday summer transfer target, who’s expected to join the club.
A number of players are on Sheffield Wednesday’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window, which officially starts on June 14.
Danny Rohl will undoubtedly have a busy summer as the Owls have a lot of holes to fill and players to upgrade on.

Hamer, who played for Chris Powell at Charlton Athletic from 2011 to 2014, had Powell’s approval upon his arrival.
In 2012, the two earned promotion from League One alongside Charlton, with Hamer being named to the PFA League One Team of the Year.
In 41 League One games, he preserved 19 clean sheets while giving up just 30 goals, helping the Addicks win the third-tier championship by eight points.
Powell praised Hamer after the team defeated Carlisle United 4-0 that season, with Hamer contributing an assist.
Powell stated: “Ben is one of the best goalkeepers I’ve ever seen. I suppose it’s the continental style.” Powell also praised the modern goalkeepers.
“Despite his lengthy experience, he is extremely skilled and precise at the game. We now understand that a strong team must be able to counterattack.
Then, in 2014, Powell lauded Hamer’s praises once more after the team defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in the FA Cup.
“Ben Hamer has been out injured,” Powell stated. He recently returned, so I felt it was appropriate to use him, and he impressed everyone with his goalkeeping skills.

And the fact that Powell formerly expressed such great regard for Hamer’s ball-playing skills may have contributed to the player’s seeming impending presence at the team.
Powell might have strongly recommended Hamer because he was available on a free move and Sheffield Wednesday needed custodian additions.
He also has a plethora of experience, having played for numerous clubs, earned promotions with Brentford and Charlton Athletic, and even won a League Two Golden Glove. Throughout his career, he has made 361 appearances and preserved 109 clean sheets.
Powell’s praise shows us that Hamer is a well-rounded goalkeeper who could yet stake a claim for the no.1 spot at Hillsborough next time round.
