Former Owls midfielder Carlton Palmer thinks it will be difficult for his previous team to retain their boss.
Carlton Palmer, a former midfielder for Sheffield Wednesday and England, has stated that he thinks the Owls would have to fight hard to retain manager Danny Rohl if they don’t support him during the next transfer window.
After Xisco Munoz was fired in October of last year for failing to win any of the ten Championship games he was in charge of, Rohl was brought in as Hillsborough’s new manager.
After serving as the head coach at Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Southampton, and the German national team, Rohl came to Yorkshire for the first time and gave the Owls a realistic chance of surviving.
Considering where Wednesday was at the start of the season, the 34-year-old has already managed to generate nine league victories, an amazing amount, but more will be needed if they are to guarantee their spot in the Championship the next season.
Palmer, who has played for the Owls more than 200 times in his career, is aware of the expectations at the organisation. In his opinion, Wednesday needs to do every effort to hold onto Rohl, despite the possibility that it will be challenging.
