Sheffield Wednesday boss has given strategies on how he will face Watford”

At Vicarage Road this weekend, rookie manager Danny Röhl will be looking to get Sheffield Wednesday’s season off to a winning start when his team plays Watford.

EFL expert Sam Parkin believes that Sheffield Wednesday, under Danny Röhl, may adopt a high-octane, front-pressing footballing style akin to Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Southampton squad. Röhl will want the Owls to visit Watford this weekend with the goal of starting the season with a victory.

After having worked as a coach for teams like Southampton, B Leipzig, Bayern Munich, and the German national team, this is Röhl’s first managerial position. He has shown his respect for Hasenhüttl. Together, they contributed significantly to Southampton’s success in the 2018–19 season as the Saints defeated all odds to maintain their Premier League position.

This week on the What The EFL?! podcast, former Ipswich Town striker Parkin stated, “I think it [Röhl] is a really exciting appointment.” They required a rudimentary strategy.

Darren Moore’s team may have been successful the previous season, but this one seems a little bit disorganised.

He comes from a very strong lineage, so perhaps in terms of Hasenhuttl, high level energy, and constant pressure from the front of the pitch, he will resemble Southampton.

“I find it to be an intriguing role, and who’s to say they can’t turn things around if he can dedicate himself to it?”

“I believe that the players are likely there to play the kind of football I just described, which is not entirely unlike from some of the characteristics that those forward players in particular possess.”

Wednesday had the worst league season opening ever as they currently sit bottom of the Championship. Only three of the 11 games they have played have resulted in points for them.

The Owls remain seven points out of safety as they continue to hunt for their first win of the year.
