Danny Röhl, the manager of Sheffield Wednesday, believes that the Owls shouldn’t try to let players go until they have brought in new players.
There has been some discussion among the supporters that Wednesday won’t be able to acquire players until they have made room—and some cash—by letting go of other players, but the manager thinks it would be the wrong strategy this month.
Wednesday haven’t signed anybody to bolster their ranks in the January transfer window just yet despite being three weeks into the window, but Röhl has spoken about how quickly things can change – citing Michael Ihiekwe’s return to the starting XI after reports that he may be on his way out. Since Icky is now crucial due to the center backs, we need to know what we can accomplish on the market. You never know what can happen.
“We must be online off the field for the next 14 days, be organized, and make wise choices as a team. Then we will continue.
Finding out what we can bring in first is, in my opinion, more crucial in order to make wise choices for the players, club, and team structure. Instead of moving, I believe this is the proper approach.
The likes of Liam Palmer, Michael Smith, Callum Paterson, Pol Valentin and Jamal Lowe have all seen limited game time come their way in recent weeks, but at this point only Smith – due to interest from Wrexham – has been actively linked with an exit from the club.
