Sheffield Wednesday boss sent critics warning as…

Sheffield Wednesday are already planning for next season as their players go for some well-deserved vacation time. The Owls will be hoping for a more steady season next time around, determined not to repeat their terrible start to the season before.

Recruitment will be critical to reaching that goal, and Danny Rohl should have done enough to secure adequate funding. Meanwhile, we’ve compiled the most recent news on Wednesday and their Championship rivals.

Danny Rohl’s predicament on Wednesday has been discussed on the Football Heaven podcast, with BBC analyst Rob Staton saying: “That’s the big question. There is pressure on the chairman because I believe he has received a lot of criticism, and rightfully so, in recent years.

If he now secures Wednesday’s future with this manager, he will regain a lot of credibility with Wednesday fans. But if he doesn’t, and Wednesday has a summer like last summer, the opposite will occur, and there will be more detractors than ever.”

Danny Mills, a former Leeds United player, believes his old club is the favourites for Sunday’s Championship play-off final between the Whites and Southampton. “Leeds are arguably the favourites, while Southampton have done exceptionally well this season. “It will be a huge game with a raucous atmosphere,” he told Sky Sports.

“Leeds need to return to the Premier League, simple as that. It’s not just about the match; it’s about how you cope with the situation.” Mills said that Leeds will be “hoping they don’t freeze, and hoping they can perform on the big occasion.”

Former Swansea City and Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has reportedly turned down an offer from Norwich City to become their new manager. The Canaries fired David Wagner after losing 4-0 in the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Leeds.

Cooper hasn’t worked since late last year, when Forest fired him and replaced him with Nuno Espirito Santo. Cooper returned Forest to the Premier League, where they remained for their first season. Cooper received his P45 as Forest battled relegation in their second season. Despite facing a points deduction, the East Midlands side eventually secured survival late in the season.

Cooper has rejected the transfer, but former Wednesday player Carlton Palmer believes he would have been a wonderful fit. “I’m a big admirer of Steve Cooper, he did a fantastic job at Nottingham Forest and was unlucky to lose his job with the situations that were going on at the club, a lot of it was out of his control,” Palmer stated to Football League World.

“Forest stayed up with their new manager, Nuno, but I feel they would have done so under Steve Cooper too. Yes, I am a huge fan of Steve Cooper. I am sure Norwich will be keen in bringing him to the club, and Steve will be considering his options. I am sure he is eager to get back into the game.

I believe he’d be a terrific fit at Carrow Road. He enjoys playing attractive football, attacking, and being on the front foot, which is how Norwich supporters prefer to watch their club play. If Norwich City can complete this deal, I believe it will be a tremendous move for the club.
