Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Sheffield Wednesday has set aside between £1 million and £1.5 million for the purchase of a striker in the wake of Yan Valery’s transfer from Angers.
Danny Rohl’s team is attempting to make sure that everything is covered after their thrilling escape from the previous season.
Three additions have already been confirmed: goalie Ben Hamer, full-back Max Lowe, and Valery, who arrived on Friday.
The forward position has been recognised by the Owls as a critical area to invest in next as they continue to search for ways to bolster their roster.
Despite reports that the Owls lack financial resources, club owner Dejphon Chansiri seems to have budgeted between £1 million and £1.5 million for the acquisition.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking beyond England to make that investment and have a couple of players to choose from.
It remains to be seen who they finally bring in to fill that spot.
Rohl has been a driving force in Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer business so far after he got assurances when signing a new contract.
