Sheffield Wednesday complete the signing of 27-year-old key defender

The Star reports that Ryo Hatsuse, a Japanese defender for Sheffield Wednesday, has been working with the first squad this week.
In an effort to bolster their push for a play-off berth, Sheffield Wednesday is looking to acquire players this month. As of right now, SWFC is four points outside of the play-off berths in 10th place in the Championship table.

Leeds United, the league leaders and Yorkshire rivals, will be the Owls’ next tough opponent, but they also want to gain some ground on the transfer front.
Numerous names have been connected to Hillsborough transfers, and The Star has recently surfaced some intriguing transfer rumors.

According to them, Ryo Hatsuse, a 27-year-old Japanese defender, has been training with Sheffield Wednesday for the past week. At the end of this month, his contract with Vissel Kobe expires, and it is anticipated that he will move on to fresh opportunities.

At this moment in time though, The Star adds that there is no suggestion over whether SWFC intend to make a move for the left-back amid interest from Polish side Gornik Zabrze and an unnamed Bundesliga side.

Hatsuse has spent his entire career in his native Japan but a new challenge abroad may await.

Fans of Sheffield Wednesday may be forgiven for not knowing much about Hatsuse, but it appears that the team has taken notice of his performances in Japan after observing his training prowess.
The left-back has played his entire career in Japan, as was previously said. Before joining his current team, Vissel Kobe, in 2019, he played 51 games for Gamba Osaka after graduating from their academy.

Hatsuse has been there ever since, delivering his talents as a full-back and wing-back, with the exception of a temporary loan with Avispa Fukuoka. Alongside well-known players like Andres Iniesta, Lukas Podolski, and Bojan Krkic, he has contributed four goals and 29 assists in 195 games.

Owner Dejphon Chansiri has further raised doubts about the club’s transfer predicament, even as rumors about possible Sheffield Wednesday additions continue.

The Thai owner said at a supporters forum event on Wednesday that he had not received a list of targets from manager Danny Rohl or the club’s recruitment team. This follows a communication breakdown between the boss and the owner.

Since recruiting will be crucial to the Owls’ attempt to qualify for the 2025 playoffs, it will be hoped that the situation can be settled.
