Danny Rohl, who had been in Germany earlier in the month covering Euro 2024 for ITV, has had an intense transfer window thus far with Sheffield Wednesday, bringing in seven new players.
The organisation surrounding Hillsborough is a true contrast to what we seen during the summer before Xisco Munoz’s 2023–24 Championship season, which is a credit to Rohl and Dejphon Chansiri for seeing their targets early.
Prominent figures have descended upon S6, such as Yan Valery, who will reunite with the German manager after working together at Premier League Southampton, when Rohl was assistant manager.
Wide players were also expected to provide a goal guarantee, and Rohl made a smart choice in signing Olaf Kobacki, a Polish winger who scored 15 goals in the previous season in the Polish second division.
Sheffield Wednesday is also keeping an eye on a few more wingers, one of whom is supposedly “close to completion.”
Sheffield Wednesday deal for Rangers’ Scott Wright ‘close to completion’
Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly set to sign Rangers winger Scott Wright, with a deal reportedly ‘close to completion’, according to The Fourth Official.
It is said that the agreement would be completed “over the next 48 hours,” making Rohl’s eighth summer signing.
In the 2023–24 Scottish Premiership season, the 26-year-old made 23 appearances for Rangers and scored twice in a season in which he was mostly used as a substitute.
The former Scottish youth player has played football in Europe, most notably with Rangers in the Champions League, where he saw action against major leagues Liverpool, Napoli, and Ajax.
