So far this summer, Danny Rohl has welcomed nine new players to Hillsborough in James Beadle, Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, Yan Valery, Svante Ingelsson, Nathaniel Chalobah, Olaf Kobacki, Jamal Lowe, and Charlie McNeill.
The Owls have also re-signed several players who were out of contract last summer, with Di’Shon Bernard signing a new Sheffield Wednesday contract, along with Josh Windass, Dominic Iorfa, Barry Bannan, and Liam Palmer.
The Sheffield Wednesday first-team squad appears to be in good stock ahead of the new season next weekend, with Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle visiting Hillsborough for what promises to be a tough opener.
And before the start of the 2024/25 Championship season, Rohl may welcome yet another new signing to S6, with Sheffield Wednesday now tipped to complete what would be a seven-figure transfer deal in the coming days.
Sheffield Wednesday tipped to complete Ike Ugbo transfer
Sheffield Wednesday have been chasing a deal for a new striker all summer; specifically, Sheffield Wednesday have been trying to re-sign Ike Ugbo on a permanent deal from Troyes.
The 25-year-old Canadian international scored seven goals in 18 Championship outings whilst on loan in S6 during the second half of last season.
Recent reports suggested that Sunderland had moved ahead in the race to sign Ugbo, but it appears as though the Owls are closing in on the deal after previously agreeing a £2.5million fee with Troyes.
Journalist Alex Miller has revealed on X that Sheffield Wednesday have ‘pushed on in their pursuit’ of Ugbo and that a deal could be complete in the ‘next 48 hours’.
