Bailey Cadamarteri, a young striker for Sheffield Wednesday, has had an impressive season, and many have taken note.
Danny Röhl brought the 18-year-old to attention earlier in the season with his outstanding performances at the U21 level. In his first season as a full-fledged senior professional at Hillsborough, he has scored five goals and provided five assists.
The Star first revealed in January that the gifted young player had been given a preliminary call-up to Jamaica’s U20 team. Nevertheless, he was unable to play for the Owls due to a nagging ailment, thus he was unable to attend.
Now, however, it seems that manager Heimir Hallgrímsson is hoping to bring him along for his first senior international call-up as Jamaica gets ready to play the United States of America in the CONCACAF Nations League.
Due to his Jamaican grandfather, Cadamarteri is eligible for the Reggae Boyz. Although his father, Danny, played youth football for England, it appears that the eldest of his kids may represent his country in yellow, green, and black.
Nonetheless, considering his season-opening heroics, there is rumoured to be interest in the young forward from the England system. The Owls striker may have a tough decision to make regarding which country’s insignia he will wear on his chest.
