Sheffield Wednesday’s season suffers yet another setback with new injury to star.

The veteran of Sheffield Wednesday, who has had a tough season and hasn’t played a minute of football since losing to Plymouth Argyle 163 days ago, injured his hamstring during practice on Tuesday. As a result, he won’t be able to practice before this weekend’s trip to QPR.

Gregory was added to Wednesday’s 25-man EFL Squad Registration list during last month’s international break, along with Jeff Hendrick, a loanee from Newcastle United. As a result, he is now qualified to participate in the intensifying phase of his team’s fight against relegation.

However, the 35-year-old is far down Danny Röhl’s list of priorities and doesn’t appear to be involved despite being the target of lucrative loan offers during the January transfer window. Speaking to The Star, Röhl alluded to a particular circumstance in which the forward from Sheffield might return to action. However, with so many other options available and attacking players returning to full fitness, Gregory’s role currently appears to be clear.

Röhl remarked, “I discussed this topic with Lee.” He is aware of my thoughts, but the proper circumstances must exist. There seem to be a lot of players in front right now. Callum, Josh, Ian Poveda, Ugbo, Smith, Musaba, and Gassama all return. We now have a large roster of players, including Fletch.

“What matters is that we both know what’s on my mind; it depends on what transpires in the upcoming games.”

Gregory is anticipated to depart the team this summer despite having signed a one-year contract extension with Wednesday last summer. In 101 Owls games, he has netted 29 goals and provided 12 assists.
