Sold out: The number of Wednesday fans heading to Watford after the international break

Sheffield Wednesday face fellow strugglers Watford in their next Championship clash.

Sheffield Wednesday have a two-week break to rest, recuperate, and most important; find a new manager.

The Owls are currently managerless and have been for more than a week now, after owner Dejphon Chansiri sacked Xisco Munoz last Wednesday.

Several names have been linked though it seems like young German coach Danny Rohl is the current front-runner.

And his first game in charge of the club could be against Watford.

The Hornets currently sit in 20th place of the Championship table and have won just once since the opening day of the season, with Valerien Ismael’s side losing three of their last four before the break.Watford v Sheffield Wednesday - Sky Bet ChampionshipAnd for whoever comes in at Wednesday, they’ll have a sold out away following backing them in their first game, with the club recently revealing that Owls fans have sold out their 2,104 allocation for the trip to Vicarage Road.

For the next Wednesday boss, this is a fairly nice, albeit still very difficult first game in charge.

That’s assuming that Wednesday have a manager in place; Neil Thompson could yet be in the dugout once more but it seems like Rohl in particular is a deal moving forward fairly quickly.

Watford have been poor this season. They’ve shown that they can be beaten but they’ll see this Sheffield Wednesday game as a great chance to get back to winning ways.

Whoever comes in at Hillsborough will have very little time with the players before the game at Vicarage Road. But backed by another sell out away following, the players will hope the fans can help them through this one.
