The ex-Owls manager is back

The ex-Owls manager is back in work after being replaced by Danny Rohl at Hillsborough

Xisco Munoz, the former manager of Sheffield Wednesday, found a new position quickly after being introduced as the manager of Slovakian outft FC DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda.

Today, Munoz will assume official leadership of the team and manage training for the first time. It happens only a few weeks after Wednesday fired him following a challenging season opener.

After being promoted to the Championship and named as Darren Moore’s replacement in the summer, the 43-year-old struggled to sustain his momentum in difficult conditions. His dismissal resulted from the Owls taking just two points from the first ten games.

He was welcomed to the club by DAC executive director Jan Van Daele, but he now has a fresh challenge in Slovakia.

Van Daele declared, “We are very happy to have reached an agreement with Xisco.” “He is a youthful, dynamic coach with much experience working internationally. We reached a consensus over the team’s strengths and shortcomings as well as the season’s goals.

“Overall, the process went smoothly and we can start preparing for the important weeks ahead. Xisco and his two colleagues will arrive in Dunaszerdahely tomorrow accompanied by their agents, after which their contracts with our club can be signed. Xisco will take over the management of the team from Tuesday.”
