Transfer decisions sees defender move to Sheffield Wednesday’

Sheffield Wednesday defender, Ciaran Brennan, has returned to club after his loan spell with Hartlepool United.

The 23-year-old centre back joined the Monkey Hangers last month on a’short-term loan’ from County Durham, though the exact length of his stay was not announced at the time.

Brennan’s tenure with the club would only last one month, and it has now been reported that his time there has ended, with him returning to his original club at Middlewood Road.

According to a statement on their official website, four loan players left this month, including Charlie Seaman, who returned to Doncaster Rovers after his loan was terminated by mutual consent. Throughout the first half of the season, the right-back appeared in 16 games and scored twice.

“Joe Mattock’s loan at the Suit Direct Stadium has expired, and the defender has returned to Harrogate Town after eight appearances for Pools…” Zak Johnson, who appeared 12 times for Hartlepool, has returned to Sunderland following the expiration of his loan, which was cut short due to hamstring injury.

“Ciaran Brennan, who arrived on a short-term loan from Sheffield Wednesday, has left Pools after five games. We appreciate all four players’ efforts and wish them luck in the future.

Brennan completed 90 minutes in all four National League games that he played for the club during his stint, with his only triumph coming in the FA Trophy win over the City of Liverpool.
