A “serious incident” has resulted in the closure of a road in Skegness’s center. At 6:52 p.m. yesterday, August 25, police said they were summoned to Grosvenor Road, which is near Roman Bank and the intersection with Cavendish Road.

Only that it’s a “serious incident” has been provided by the press office of Lincolnshire Police. “A police cordon is in place from Dorothy Avenue to Cavendish Road, and a scene guard is on duty,” the force stated.

“Investigations are still underway. As soon as we have more information to give, we will post updates on our website.”

Images from our correspondent on the scene show a blue tent encircling a piece of land close to the intersection with Dorothy Avenue.

We await further details from police

Our reporter has now left the scene in Grosvenor Road, Skegness.

A police cordon remains in place with officers at the scene.

Police say they were called to the street, at the junction with Cavendish Road and close to Roman Bank, at 6.52pm yesterday (August 19).

We are awaiting a further statement from Lincolnshire Police as to specifically what has happened.

‘No go zones’

Another resident in the area said there are parts of Skegness that are ‘no go zones’.

The man, who did want to be named, said: “I’m not sure what happened. I try and avoid Grosvenor [Road] as much as I can.

“I don’t think Skegness is bad and dangerous as a whole but some parts are no go zones.”
