Officials are investigating a body that was found Friday morning on the grounds of the Somerset Energy Center on East Mt. Vernon Street.
Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk confirmed that his office was called to the Energy Center at 9:38 a.m. Saturday. He said his office was on the scene at 10:10 a.m.
Strunk said the body was of a 27-year-old male. As of Satueday morning, next of kin has not been notified and therefore no name was being released.
Strunk said the body has been sent to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy and toxicology report.
Both Strunk and Somerset Police Captain Shawn Dobbs said there did not appear to be any signs of foul play.
Dobbs said that SPD detectives were able to view video that showed the person’s last activity, and that detectives did not see any suspicious activity or interactions around him.
The investigation is ongoing.
