Tyrone Munro of the South Sydney Rabbitohs been offered a contract extension to stay with the squad, allowing him to talk to rival teams starting on November 1.
One of the top young wingers in the NRL, the 19-year-old was born in 2004 and has scored six tries in seven games, demonstrating his ability to get over the try-line with ease.
Since he is still off-contract at the end of the 2025 season, Munro, who is seen as a crucial component of the Rabbitohs’ future, will be among many players who can begin negotiating with opposing teams on November 1.
Although Zero Tackle is aware that the Rabbitohs have offered him a three-year contract extension that would keep him with the team until the conclusion of the 2028 NRL season, the two sides have not yet reached an agreement.
According to The Daily Telegraph, he will put himself to the test on the open market, Munro stated that as the Rabbitohs embark on a new chapter under Wayne Bennett, he “would love to stay” there.
“I wish I could stay,” Munro said to Zero Tackle.
“I live there. Since all of my brothers are present, I would really like to stay.
Munro, a top priority for the Rabbitohs, played less games this season due to a re-aggravated shoulder injury, but he was able to return to action before the season ended.
Munro is expected to be a vital member of the backline and start on the wing, playing outside of either Campbell Graham or Jack Wighton, the Australian Kangaroos’ representatives, when Wayne Bennett takes over the Rabbitohs for the upcoming campaign.
