Former managers of Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton are among the favourites to take charge of Sheffield United’s Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Forest are still led by Steve Cooper, despite being the betting favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be fired. A recent 5-0 loss to Fulham increased the heat on him, as the club is just above the relegation zone.
Sheffield United sacked Paul Heckingbottom recently, which moved them below Forest in the league. He was quickly replaced by Chris Wilder, a man well-known to the Bramall Lane faithful.
Oliver Glasner, who was most recently in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, is the current BetVictor favourite to replace Cooper at the City Ground. Glasner may be an unknown quantity in England, but the favourites list includes some well-known names.
5/2 second choice Glasner is the son of former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard has been out of work since leaving Molineux in August, but he has a remarkable pedigree.
Will Still, the manager of Reims, is the third favourite at 10/1, ahead of former Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira. Earlier this year, the Arsenal great was linked with a transfer to Leeds United, but Daniel Farke was named as Sam Allardyce’s replacement.
Ralph Hasenhuttl, formerly of Southampton, has been put as the 16/1 fourth favourite to take over.
Cooper will have an opportunity to cement his position this weekend when Forest go to Wolves, Lopetegui’s previous club.
