Southampton are eyeing a loan move for Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Southampton sit 4th in the Championship table as things stand, but have conceded the most goals out of any side in the top eight. Therefore, addressing this issue may be a priority ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Jan Bednarek and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, a Manchester City loanee, have been Russell Martin’s go-to defensive duo. However, they do have Jack Stephens and Mason Holgate on hand in case they need to rotate and replace owing to injury.
However, Nixon’s most recent update indicates that the Saints manager isn’t content with what he has, as his team is aiming for a loan agreement for Leeds United center-back Cresswell.
