Southampton fans favourite has made a shock move – Report…

HITC Football understands that Southampton talent Carlos Alcaraz is close to finalising a move to Italian giants Juventus.

The 21-year-old has not been a consistent part of Russell Martin’s plans, and according to HITC, the Saints manager told the Argentine he was free to quit.

With a major transfer to the Serie A powerhouse planned, Alcaraz is currently on his way to Turin.

It is almost certain that a loan agreement with a buyout option for approximately £30 million will be reached, and Alcaraz will leave St. Mary’s in less than a year, having joined from Racing Club de Avellaneda.

With Racing Club, Alcaraz made a name for himself in his native Argentina by contributing five assists and 12 goals as a midfielder.

Despite their struggles with relegation, Southampton called in January of last year and thrust Alcaraz into Premier League life.

Despite the Saints’ downfall, Alcaraz had potential in the top division, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 18 games.

This season, the 21-year-old has come and gone from the Saints lineup, starting 13 Championship games and substituting in another 10.

While three goals and one assist isn’t a bad return, Southampton appears prepared to allow Alcaraz to join Juventus.

Alcaraz seems to have a lot of potential, but the Serie A powerhouses need him to show that he is worthy of a permanent move to Italy.

Joe Rothwell and David Brooks, who are both on loan from Bournemouth, are the two attacking players Southampton has recruited this month.

Because Rothwell and Brooks can play wide positions as well as attacking midfield, Southampton felt comfortable letting Alcaraz go, even if they might later be able to fetch a high price for him.
