Visitors may skate against the breathtaking background of Southampton’s mediaeval city walls at the location on The Esplanade. The Après Bar, which will open next to the ice rink, will serve mulled wine, winter cocktails, hot chocolate and Frosty Steins of German beer, among other holiday favourites.

Tickets are £14 per adult, and each 45-minute session on the ice will run. Here’s where you can reserve your spot online right now.

The ice rink outside Portsmouth Guildhall will open in November, although not quite as early. Saturday, November 25 is the start of the season, and Sunday, January 7 is the conclusion.
