Southampton strike deal with Reading…..

Thierry Rohart-Brown, a youngster from Reading, has officially joined Southampton. The news was released on the team’s official website.
Over the years, Southampton’s academy has turned forth some incredible talent. While some have moved on to better things away from St. Mary’s, others have continued to play first-team roles with the Saints.

It will be hoped that the academy can continue to produce youngsters who have the potential to be senior players for the club in the future, even after their relegation to the Championship.

Speaking on the acquisition, Andy Goldie, the manager of Southampton’s academy, said that Rohart-Brown had been a “top target” for their young squad and highlighted his adaptability as a key quality.

Rohart-Brown, who is just 16 years old, is eager to advance in Southampton’s prestigious academy. The same age group that he had been playing for with Reading is the U18s, which he will be representing.

It’s clear how highly Goldie and company regard Rohart-Brown—they had him marked as a “top target”—so it will be hoped that under their guidance, he may flourish now that the purchase is finalised.

On Wednesday night, Southampton’s first team will play Preston North End in an attempt to win their fourth straight game. The club is now ranked fifth in the standings.
