Witness appeal following assault of teenager in Southampton

Police in Southampton are looking for many witnesses who may have important information for their continuing investigation into an assault on a teenage girl.

It happens after a 16-year-old girl was approached by an unidentified male when she was strolling along Weston Shore on Monday, October 9 between 8.30 and 8.40 p.m.

She reportedly suffered minor injuries after being physically assaulted in an unprovoked incident.

The kid managed to get away from the man, and while doing so, she spoke with a number of onlookers.

The event was followed by the man running in the direction of Netley.

He is characterized as a Caucasian man with a massive frame and a shaven head, who is between 35 and 40 years old.

“We understand that hearing about this incident will worry the neighborhood, and we are exploring all practical lines of inquiry to identify the suspect,” said Detective Constable Eloise Prowting.

We are aware through our investigations that the victim spoke to several persons in the vicinity at the time, including a mother with a young child, a runner, and a man wheeling a trolley.
