The midfielder, who was with the Shrimpers on a dual registration, made 14 appearances for Kevin Maher’s side.
But he has now departed Roots Hall.
A club statement said: “We can confirm that Mauro Vilhete has left the club.
“Vilhete’s dual registration contract has been cancelled and as a result he has departed Roots Hall.
“We thank Mauro for his contributions and wish him all the best.”
Vilhete made three starts for Blues and becomes the second player to leave the club this week after Brooklyn Kabongolo also departed.
