Breaking; Aston Villa has finally found a replacement for Ollie Watkins

According to sources who spoke with 90min, Aston Villa is working hard to complete  new contract.

Watkins and Villa started talking at the beginning of this year, and by April they thought a deal was almost done.

However, the extension has not yet been fully agreed and talks are continuing with Watkins’ camp as Villa want the deal finalised before January.

Sources close to Villa insist they are not worried about the future of their star striker and are confident a deal will soon be agreed.

Watkins currently has less than two years left on the deal he originally signed when moved to Villa from Brentford in 2020.

Since joining Villa, Watkins has impressed hugely, hitting double figures of goals every season and becoming a full England international.

Monchi, who joined Villa Park as president of football operations in recent months, is working to finalize this contract since head coach Unai Emery has made it plain that Watkins needs to sign a new contract.

Emery was questioned about the contract negotiations after their 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday. Watkins scored the game-winning goal.

He declared, “I am concerned [informed of it] and I am working on it.

When asked to elaborate on his use of the word “concerned,” Emery emphasized: “No, no, no. We’re in contact. His dedication to the club is incredible. Watkins puts a lot of effort into every day. His daily goal is to get better. He desires employment and team support.
