A man was taken to hospital after a crash on a busy road in Bolton yesterday evening.
Emergency services rushed to St Helens Road near Daubhill after a crash between a cyclist and a car at around 6.40pm on Wednesday (July 3). An air ambulance was also called out to the scene as the main road was taped off.
In a statement issued this morning, Greater Manchester Police said a man – aged in his 40s – was taken to hospital from the scene. He suffered minor injuries, a force spokesperson added.
There were no arrests made, and the collision is still being investigated. Following yesterday’s event, St Helens was cordoned off while emergency personnel worked at the scene between Moorlands View and A6145 Hulton Lane.
For several hours into the evening, the barrier was kept in place so that crash investigation work could be done. Images displayed a broken pedal cycle on the ground at the side of the road and a car windscreen left inside the barrier.
