St Helens star joins Hull KR

Castleford Tigers stand-off Danny Richardson has joined top-flight rivals Hull KR on loan until the end of 2024.
He takes the place of Ben Reynolds, a former playmaker for Castleford and Featherstone Rovers who signed a similar season-long contract to join Hull FC from the Robins. Richardson, 27, came to Tigers from St Helens in 2020, but he was injured for the entire previous season and hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular in the squad this year.
Reynolds, 30, started his professional career at Castleford, where he made his squad debut in 2013. Prior to playing for Hull KR during the preseason, he played for Wakefield Trinity, Featherstone Rovers, and Leigh for two stints, including the team’s victory in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley last year.
Richie Myler, director of rugby at Hull, stated: “We’re happy to have someone of Ben’s calibre and game knowledge join our ranks for the balance of the season. We’ve been eager to add some depth to the half-back position in recent weeks, and Ben’s skills—particularly his kicking game—will enhance those of Jack Charles, Morgan Smith, and Jake Trueman in the upcoming months.
