St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that we have agreed a contract extension with Lewis Jamieson.
The 21-year-old forward has penned a new deal until summer 2025 with the club holding an option to extend it by a further year.
The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate scored his first Saints goal last month in a 2-2 draw against Hibernian at The SMiSA Stadium. In total, Lewis has made 19 first-team appearances with his latest coming in a start away to St Johnstone at the beginning of this month.
Speaking to stmirren.com, Lewis said: “I’m really happy. It came as a bit of a shock to be honest, but I’m happy to be here and get more opportunities.
“The gaffer is pushing me all the time. It’s been a benefit because I’m in the best condition I have been as a professional. It’s been really good for me and hopefully I can keep working hard, get opportunities and reap the benefits.
“I really enjoy it here,” he continued.
Manager Stephen Robinson added: “I think Lewis has come to the fore and become a real live option for us.
“He’s added real competition and shown he can compete at this level. it’s probably taken us a little bit longer than we thought to get him there but he’s applied himself really well and he’s someone we feel we can keep developing.
“It’s been difficult for him to break in because we’ve started the season well but when he’s had his chances he’s taken them and he’s worked really hard since I came to the club. We see him as a big part of things going forward.”
