Robinson: To pay for January signings, players would have to depart St Mirren;:

The St. Mirren boss is eager to add players to his squad next month.

Stephen Robinson, the manager of St Mirren, believes that in order to make room for new players in the squad next month, he will need to send some players out.

St. Mirren is presently third in the Premiership, and the manager is eager to make sure he has a solid group for the second half of the season as they aim to improve on their sixth-place finish from the previous year. The transfer market opens on January 1.

Robinson, who was able to sign free agent Elvis Bwomono on a short-term contract this week, acknowledged that balancing money would be necessary and that any fresh additions would depend on previous deals closing first.

The manager stated, “To do that, we’ll have to do a little business out.” The board was aware that we had been looking for a Ryan Strain replacement for a few months.

“Obviously, Thierry [Small] can also play there, but we still need to add more players to the team. It would be too little to fit within our current lineup of games.

Thus, in order to attract someone else in, we’ll need to engage in some trade. However, Keanu will be out for the next five to six Asian Cup games with Australia, so we might need to focus on that area of the field right now.

Robinson attributes some of his team’s victories to the mentality in the squad and feels it’s critical to acquire the proper character when hiring players in addition to evaluating their skill and fitness.

“It’s enormous,” he said. “It just takes one bad apple to ruin the entire dressing room.

“It’s okay when things are going well for you. We had a rough two or three weeks after losing a few games, which I believe we witnessed in the past month, and nothing changed. There were no cliques among the squad, no self-pitying sentiments, and no attitude shift.

“The British rowing team ran by the same rules and maxims here that they used when they won all the Olympic gold medals: ‘If anything stops the boat going forward, they go.'”

“You have to leave if someone is attempting to impede our progress or if we bring someone in who is not following the group’s path.

We have no egos at the football club; that’s what the boys think and what they’ve bought into. You can only endure as a club like St. Mirren in that manner.

The Saints manager also expressed his happiness at signing Elvis Bwomono, a versatile right-back who has committed to a contract that will last through the end of the current campaign. Prior to being regular members of the first squad, Caolan Boyd-Munce and Richard Taylor were on short-term contracts when they first joined the team.

Robinson thinks Bwomono has what it takes to succeed where they have.

He stated: “I think it’s great that the boys who took on less money were able to have that opportunity when you give them that chance and you can see that you will get a chance and get your contract extended and go on to the money that first team players are on.”

“I’m extremely, extremely confident that Elvis will receive the same rewards as the other two.

“We’ve had the pleasure of having him here, getting a good look at his medical history, character, and level of fitness.

“We believe he’s a tremendous athlete who can contribute greatly to the football team.”
