County sign new Colchester star

Stockport County is delighted to announce that it has agreed terms with Colchester United for the transfer of winger Jayden Fevrier, who will join the club once the transfer window has opened, subject to EFL approval.

This summer, the 21-year-old will transfer from Colchester to Edgeley Park with colleague Jay Mingi. He will sign a three-year contract with a one-year club option for an undisclosed amount.

The former member of the West Ham academy can play at wing-back or on the wing, where he was frequently used at Colchester. He was a notable player at the JobServe Community Stadium the previous season, earning the supporters’ vote for Young Player of the Year with his thrilling wide-ranging performances.

In a breakout season with the US, Jayden made 48 appearances across all competitions. On the last day of the season, his four goals and four assists helped the team maintain their EFL status. Fevrier, who can take on and outplay his opponent and is comfortable with both feet, finished 115 dribbles in League Two last season, which is at least 31 more than any other player in the league and more than any player in League One.

He was a former England Youth International who enrolled in West Ham’s academy at the age of six. At the age of fourteen, he made his U18 debut. After a year, he signed his first professional contract and became the youngest player to ever play for the Hammers reserve team.

In the year that he was crowned the Academy’s finest scholar and recipient of the club’s Dylan Tombides Award, he completed his move to and experienced his first season of first-team play.

We are happy to have secured Jayden to a long-term contract at Edgeley Park as the club continues its preparations for League One next season. Several prominent clubs were interested in obtaining his services this summer. During his tenure at Edgeley Park, Jayden will don the number ten shirt. He will report for pre-season on July 1st along with the rest of the team.

First-Team Manager, Dave Challinor said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been able to bring Jayden to the football club. A big thanks to Mark for his backing in what is a real investment on his behalf.

“Jayden’s profile is one that we tried to get last summer but weren’t able to get the right one. Not only do we feel we have the right one now, but he is our player, a young one that we can definitely improve and will become a real asset for the club.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jayden join the football team. Many thanks to Mark for supporting what is essentially an investment on his part.

We attempted to obtain Jayden’s profile last summer, but we were unable to locate the ideal one. Not only do we think we have the proper player right now, but he’s also our player—a young guy who we can help develop and who will be a true addition to the team.
