Stockport County loan man to hold talks

According to the official club website, Port Vale will speak with Lewis Cass upon his return from his Stockport County loan.

This summer, Port Vale will have to decide what to do with the defender.
On the last day of the January transfer window, Cass, 24, was granted temporary permission to leave for Edgeley Park.

In addition to revealing that he will have a “conversation” with Darren Moore about his circumstances, the Valiants have released their retained list.

Latest on Stockport County loanee at Port Vale

Cass was acquired up by Stockport County this past winter to provide their defensive unit additional depth because he can play centre back or right back.

Along with Wrexham and Mansfield Town, he went on to play nine games for the Hatters as they were promoted from League Two.

As they get ready for life in League One, it is unclear if Dave Challinor’s team would be interested in having him return to Edgeley Park.
With Port Vale now in the fourth division, Moore’s team may be wise to hang onto him as they attempt to recover with an early promotion.
After relocating to Vale Park in 2022, Cass has made 71 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals.

The man, who was born in the North East, advanced through the ranks of the Premier League team by attending Newcastle United’s academy.

He was loaned out to Hartlepool United and Port Vale to gain some experience, although he never appeared for the Toon Army’s first team. Eventually, the latter team permanently signed him.

The Valiants have declared the departures of Dan Gore, Kacper Lopata, Alex Mighten, Jensen Weir, and Jayson Leutwiler, along with James Wilson and Gavin Massey. Deklan Wynne and Uche Ikpeazu are still in negotiations about staying.

However, Cass’s future is uncertain, and it is unclear where he will play next semester.
