Stockport County Winger Poised To Return From His Loan Spell

The attacker was given permission by Stockport County to join their fellow League Two team in the summer.

Since then, 26-year-old Lemonheigh-Evans has made 23 appearances for Wimbledon in all competitions, contributing two assists and three goals.

Though he was supposed to play for the Dons the entire season, London News Online now reports that he is “set” to return to Edgeley Park this month.

For the second part of this campaign, Stockport will have more attacking depth and competition with Lemonheigh-Evans back.

The former Wales youth international’s long-term future with the fourth-tier table-toppers is now uncertain as his contract expires at the conclusion of this season and he will become a free agent in June.

After being promoted from the National League in 2022, Dave Challinor’s team swooped to sign him. He has since appeared in 36 games for them overall, scoring three goals. Last year, he also spent a brief period of time away at Notts County.

While Lemonheigh-Evans was a young player, he only made one appearance for Bristol City’s first team. In order to gain experience, he had stints on loan with Bath City and Torquay United from Ashton Gate before joining the latter team permanently in 2020.

Before moving to Stockport, the forward scored 30 goals in 166 games with the Gulls.

This weekend, Challinor’s team returns to action at home against Walsall.
