Two boys, aged 16 and 18, have now died after suffering serious injuries
A second teenager has died in a horrific crash that saw an Audi plough into trees in Lancashire. Police and paramedics were scrambled to the collision on Chain Caul Way, Preston, on Thusday night (September 19).
Emergency services attended the scene shortly before 11pm to reports that an Audi A3 sport, travelling towards Lea, had left the carriageway and collided with trees.
After the incident, three teenage boys, aged 16, 17 and 18, were rushed to hospital from the scene. On Friday (September 20), Lancashire Police announced the 16-year-old, a backseat passenger, died as a result of his injuries
The driver, an 18-year-old guy, passed away in a hospital on Friday morning (September 20), according to a fresh report from Lancashire Constabulary.
The 17-year-old boy, who was riding in the front seat, sustained severe injuries and is still in the hospital in a “stable condition.” Every one of them is from Preston.
The Lancashire Police are asking anyone with information, CCTV footage, or witnesses to get in touch with them right now as they are conducting an investigation.
The Road Policing Unit Sgt. Paul McCurrie of Lancashire Police stated: “This was an accident with sad circumstances. My condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the two young people who passed away.
“We are investigating how the collision happened, and we continue to ask for anyone who witnessed it to contact us. Also, if anyone was driving in the Chain Caul Lane area around the time of the collision and has dash cam footage, or they have CCTV footage from the area, please get in touch.”
