After a post-mortem examination, the inquiry is still ongoing because the cause of his death is unclear.
In the interim, two males, ages 26 and 30, who were detained as part of the investigation on suspicion of murder, have been freed on bond. But, as of right now, no more steps will be done in relation to the 26-year-old who has been removed from the investigation.
On , Saturday 22, 2024, Gorton resident Keano Byrne (14/03/1997) was reported missing. The GMP immediately began an investigation.
He was last observed leaving Northumberland Road in Brinnington and travelling towards Reddish Vale with another male in the early hours of Monay, June 26, 2024.
Since Keano was released from custody, specialised GMP search teams have been scouring the area in and around Reddish Vale Country Park since Keano was reported missing and, sadly, located a body in the water on Monday.
