A road in Stockport was shut off by police this morning (Tuesday) following a ‘police incident’.
A section of the Heaton Moor Road junction with Wellington Road North in Stockport, was shut off by Greater Manchester Police following an incident, just before 7am.
Pictures show a police car blocking the road. Images taken by the M.E.N. at the scene appear to show a car has hit a bus stop. There’s also believed to be fuel on the road as a result.
Stagecoach has posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Route 192. Due to a Police Incident at Heaton Moor Road Services towards Manchester will Divert using School Lane, Manchester Road then resume normal route until further notice.”
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details. The Police are trying everything humanly possible for the road to reopen soon. We will keep updating you as things unfold.
