In light of Mark Travers’ unexpected comeback, Alex Neil has intimated that it is unlikely that Stoke City would sign a free agent custodian.
Travers was a constant for Stoke in the Championship after signing on loan in the summer, but due to injuries to two goalkeepers at Bournemouth and the fact that loan regulations for the Premier League and Championship are different, he was abruptly called back to the south coast last week.

While Travers, who was on the bench for Bournemouth in a win against Burnley, is reportedly eager to get back to Stoke as soon as possible, which would now be in the January transfer window, ack Bonham entered the game and preserved a clean sheet in a win at Middlesbrough.

Neil stated, “We’re probably just going to see this period,” as he got ready for Saturday’s home match against Cardiff. “We will assess our performance over the next two games before the next international break. We have two games remaining.”
Five automobiles were taken in one night in Stoke-on-Trent, putting four youths in court.
All of the teenagers have been charged and placed under jail remand.
The challenge lies in the fact that bringing someone in will need them to be a free agent who hasn’t been playing because it’s outside the window. It may land on the January window by the time we get them up to speed, which would alter the dynamics once more. Right now, we’re content to make do with what we have.
Additionally, we have our own young custodian Tommy Simkin on loan. We may choose to bring Tommy back, but only if he would be playing. It would be pointless to have him return and sit
“Jack played really well just now. We have two games left before the international break, so hopefully we can continue to play like that for a few more times.”
The Premier League’s “exceptional circumstances” appeal was not going to be heard in time, so Travers stayed at Clayton Wood until Friday, even though Stoke just found out about Bournemouth’s predicament on Thursday of last week.
“I was really surprised,” Neil remarked. I believe that misunderstandings exist about contracts. It is untrue for anyone to believe that we included a clause allowing Bournemouth to recall a player before the window opened. Your issue is that there’s one spot on the pitch where it does turn out to be the case, and it doesn’t matter if it’s
“We haven’t included a provision allowing them to withdraw him at any time. In all likelihood, the loan will begin when he joins and last until January. This is the only way it can be shattered under extraordinary situations. The Premier League received their appeal, which the Premier League accepted.
“They are not permitted to reclaim Trav at any time under the terms of the deal. Why would we ever sign a contract like that? However, it’s the only spot on the pitch where they could. It would never have been done if it had been somewhere else on the pitch.
This is the first time I’ve ever experienced it. In my almost two decades of playing football, neither as a player nor as a coach, has it ever occurred at any club I’ve ever been a part of. We weren’t prepared for that, so we were rather shocked by it. To the best of our knowledge, Randolph (Darren) was fit, although it’s clear from later events that this isn’t the case.
“Many circumstances conspired to prevent that from occurring. Although unfortunate, things are as they are.
In the last three seasons, Bonham has been called upon in times of need, and last weekend, he was instrumental in helping the team win three points.
Neil stated, “In the end, it comes down to performances.” “You might argue that you weren’t expecting us to win three straight, but now that we have, we’re expected to win the following game. Everything is based on what you can really see. You either gain confidence from it or lose it. Everyone now has more faith in Jack after his performance the previous weekend and his clean sheet, knowing that he can play well. We’re hopeful that will come to pass.
