Three months into his position, Stoke City manager Steven Schumacher’s job is already in jeopardy, according to talkSPORT.
Only three wins have been supervised by Schumacher since leaving Plymouth to assume the helm of the Potters in December.
Stoke has lost six of their past seven games, dropping them into the Championship relegation zone.
When Schumacher, 39, was hired before Christmas, the club had high hopes that he would emerge from the mud as a forward-thinking young coach.
But with just three victories in 12 league games, he is under tremendous pressure, and Stoke is debating firing the coach.
The Potters are in financial danger following a catastrophic few years, and they are trying to escape relegation.
A third manager may be on the way after Alex Neil was fired earlier in the season.
Although Schumacher’s dismissal has not yet been decided, rumours have circulated that Tony Pulis would make a comeback to Bet365 Stadium.
Pulis led the team to the Premier League in 2008 and oversaw them from 2006 until 2013.
Stoke, Sheffield Wednesday, and Rotherham are now in the bottom three after Stoke’s most recent 2-1 loss to Cardiff City.
That was the Potters’ sixth loss in seven games, and they could actually be sent down to League One now.
Next up for them is Middlesbrough, and another loss might mean the end for Schumacher.
More than 25 years ago, in 1998, was the last time Stoke played in the third division of the football league.
Schumacher, who won League One Manager of the Season with Plymouth the previous season, would be the most recent of the Potters’ young managers to be fired; the previous three have been Neil, Nathan Jones, and Gary Rowett.
