Road closed as Police attend incident scene in Suffolk

Due to the need to remove a tyre from the A14, drivers in the Bury St Edmunds area experienced delays during rush hour.

At 9.10 a.m., police were called to the eastbound carriageway in response to reports of a van with a blown tyre between junctions 43 and 44.

The tyre had ended up in the carriageway’s second lane.

Although the exact method of removing the tyre is unknown, a police spokesperson speculates that a rolling road block may have been installed.

The van driver had moved onto the hard shoulder prior to the arrival of the police.

No injuries have been reported.
